Ingredients: Print Ingredients
Oil for frying 3/4 cup white sugar 3 large eggs 1 tablespoon melted butter 1/4 cup whole milk 1 tablespoon vanilla extract 1-1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 pinch salt 2 pinches ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
|
Prepare:
In a deep, heavy fry pan, heat the oil to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. While the oil heats up, combine the eggs, butter, milk, and vanilla together in a mixing bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir to mix.
Slowly pour the wet ingredients over the top of the dry ingredients, stirring gently to combine. Do not over-mix.
With a spoon, scoop a small ball (about 1 ounce) of the dough up and drop it into the hot oil. Repeat with the rest of the dough, working in small batches of 5 to 7 balls at a time. Turn the beignets several times to ensure even browning. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, then remove to a paper towel to drain.
